Install BizTalk Server 2006 R2 on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 – Part 2: Installing Internet Information Service (IIS) on Windows XP

Internet Information Service (IIS)

BizTalk Server 2006 R2 requires Internet Information Service for a lot of thing, most importantly for HTTP, SOAP Adaptors and for SSL encryption to name a few.

If you are installing BizTalk Server 2006 R2 on Windows XP (SP2) then you need to install IIS 5.1 and if you are installing BizTalk Server 2006 R2 on Windows Server 2003 (SP1) then you should install IIS 6.0

Installing Internet Information Service 5.1 on Windows XP

1. Click Start | Control Panel

2. Click Add or Remove Programs and then Click on Add/Remove Windows Components

3. In Windows Components Wizard Window, click Internet Information Services (IIS) and then click the Details…. button

4. Within the Internet Information Services (IIS) window, select SMTP Service and World Wide Web Service checkboxes and click OK

5. Finally click Next button to install Internet Information Services on Windows XP.
